“When I can’t tell if a guy is growing a Movember moustache or is really just a pedophile”
Dear moustache enthusiasts,
For the next 30 days, I will grow a moustache to raise awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. This movement is known as Movember. Men across the country shave their face clean on 11/1 and then grow and groom a moustache for the month. You can donate directly to my page and you can click donate to me or donate to my team (it’s all the same, really). My team is named ‘Stache Gordon. Your hard earn cash goes entirely to the Movember and Prostate Cancer Foundations. Thank you and spread the word!

When the winds died down last night, at about 11 p.m., I drove down to Dumbo/Brooklyn Bridge Park with a few friends to see the blacked-out cityscape from across the river. The view was eerie and surreal—a bit like the mid-point of any apocalyptic movie ever set in New York.
Here are a few photos from our walk, all courtesy Yujin Yohe.

Over the weekend, I watched Grindhouse on blu-ray, which comes with Planet Terror, Death Proof and all of the faux trailers on one long ass disc. So pardon all of the Kurt Russell love that’s happening over here. Plus, at work, a writer of mine couldn’t nail an interview with Kurt for an upcoming movie—so this may be my way of coping.

It was only a matter of time before Mattel would cash in nostalgia…wait they still make He-Man toys. Nevermind.
It took one dude for me to have any sort of interest in the Knicks since I was 11 years old.

Let’s just hope America doesn’t turn against him just like they did to Tim Tebow.

My Q&A with Gina Carano from ESPN The Magazine.

The new issue of ESPN The Magazine hits this Friday and it’s filled with great stories like how the Angels signed Albert Pujols.

Also I was fortunate to interview MMA fighter turned action star Gina Carano on her starring role in Haywire. The movie is out now and it’s awesome and you should see it. She’s the female Jason Bourne and kicks Channing Tatum’s ass in the first five minutes of the movie. It’s worth it.
I’ll upload the article later this week but you should buy the issue instead because we have new glossy paper and it smells better than our old issues.

To give you an idea on how excited I am about the new Batman movie—I listen to the movie while working. I don’t watch it. I just listen to it. Yeah, there’s something wrong with me. So the trailer’s out. But you know that already. But this is my Tumblr and I’m posting it so I can watch it over and over again.

According to the “Business Insider” my new hometown of Hartford, CT is #14 of the 25 most dangerous cities in America. Whatever, Business Insider. You’re just a forth rate Forbes knockoff anyway. And how is NYC not on the list. I’ve lived in NYC my entire life until this past summer and my family had two cars stolen. Two! And they weren’t great cars. Who the hell steals a Chevrolet Celebrity?
Changed the name of my Tumblr from the dreadful “losmejia” to the less dreadful “The Carlos” Apparently my name is common enough for there to be Tumblr accounts taken under my name. So screw you, http://mejia.tumblr.com/ and http://carlosmejia.tumblr.com/
You all will remain a distant second to http://thecarlos.tumblr.com/
I don’t usually plug other people’s work on Tumblr, because let’s face it, who cares? Tumblr is a hub for images and no one ever reads anything on Tumblr—especially on my site, but today I came across Mike Mitchell’s artwork thanks to a friend. It’s incredible stuff and I’m not just saying that in hopes of getting a free t-shirt. It’s genuinely cool work. Check it out.
